Wine Review: Anam Cara Cellars 2006 Nicholas Estate Reserve Pinot Noir

The wine comes from the Chehalem region of Oregon and has a nice structure with a velvety mouth feel. I picked up bits of cinnamon with a wondeful juiciness unlike most of the Pinot Noirs of California that I’ve tried. Subtle flavors compliment a medium finish with a light enough mouth feel that holds complexity until the very end.

I must admit not having much experience with Oregon Pinot Noir but I’m very pleased to say, wow, what a great introductory wine! I can’t wait to try the Mark I I have lying down.

We’ll be featuring a spotlight on this region in the future, but until then here’s a little information about the wine itself and Chehalem region.
